Perhaps it is symptomatic of an underlying need for change that English Law, with its concrete heritage traceable down the centuries, continues to step over and past people and their pain, and chooses instead to make much of property, wealth and territory.
There are those who think “cats, dogs and paperclips” first, and who place children, teachers, nurses, doctors, emergency service workers and public servants, and retail shop assistants ways down on the scale of human value and respect.
